TUBING, STORM, AND SEX IN THE HOSTEL!!

Tubing in Vang Vieng was one of our main itinerary in this Laos&Thailand Trip, traveled in April 2012

Vang Vieng experience continued. Still at the now-non-existing Spicy Lao Backpacker Hostel, with the classic story of living in a dorm room. The tubing and the storm follow. Wait, what really happened?? Read on, guys…!

The tube rental numbered our hands according our tube numbers

Earthquake and the Oh God! Yess! Yess! Oh..

So we got our good night sleep after the ‘happy tragedy’. Being kind of a light sleeper, I was woken up by the bed that moved… It took me quite a while to realize that it was actually…people having sex!! Fudge!! I heard whispering noises like ooh, ahh and gasping, both female and male voices with the bed moving back and forth and making creaking noise. Turns out, they were doing it on the bed next to mine! Our beds were only separated by this bamboo plaited divider but they were attached to each other. So any significant move on makes on one of the beds will poke the other bed.

Happy Pizza and Blue Lagoon in Vang Vieng - A Total Misconception!

However misleading the names are, we wouldn't trade these experiences for anything else! Happy Pizza did make us happy, at least before we got paranoid, and the Blue Lagoon in Vang Vieng was.. well, not quite what we expected ;D

Happy tourist

Vang Vieng, the town

Don’t expect anything fancy like Ho Chi Minh, Bali or even Phuket. It’s a very small town, dusty, and I didn’t see anything built with traditional Lao style and ornament whatsoever, it wasn’t a cultural trip in the artsy sort of way. Entering the town welcomed by the natural village scenery with limestone karsts as the backdrop, I remember feeling excited to finally get there!

VANG VIENG, LAOS

Vang Vieng was full of surprises. We traveled there in our 14-day trip through Laos and Thailand in April 2012.

Vang Vieng. Blame Adventurous Kate for making Vang Vieng seem so interesting to me. Kidding. I read her blog religiously when she was in South East Asia and the stories about Vang Vieng and the fact that she couldn’t move on from the town for a while triggered my curiosity. The tubing, the hangover, the partying and the deathly accidents, these aren't my daily life. If I was in my teenage years or early 20s I might’ve wanted to go to Vang Vieng and get all crazy just for the sake of trying something new and have something cool to tell my peers. But nowadays, I just wanted to be there and see what it’s really like. What? Just looking? Sounds boring, huh? As it turned out, it wasn’t. Not for me, at least. :D

Ready to flow...

The Start of All Girls Adventure in Laos: Vientiane

Vientiane, Laos' capital city, was our real first stop in the trip traveled in April 2012.

This is a post about my trip to Laos and Thailand. It happened almost a year ago but only now that I have enough time (and dedication) to write about it. So happy just to start it :D

This was one of my favorite trips because, well, I love Indochine in general, and I experienced so many kinds of things in this trip, from the laid back and heartwarming to the eye-opening and yet not so sober. Hahaha.. here we go..!
